About Us

About The Oaks Dental Center, Ltd.

We've been in business since 1992 and our goal has always been to make you look and feel your best through excellent dental care.  Your needs and concerns are most important to us.  That's why our practice is designed to provide you what you want: up-to-the minute dental technology that does not overlook personal care and concern.   The doctor and her clinical staff are gentle and caring.  We believe that in the root of many of the chronic problems lies the disharmony of the teeth, muscles and jaw joint.  If you have had continuing problems, or it just doesn't feel right, the cause may involve your teeth.

The country setting of our office creates an inviting atmosphere.   Wing back chairs and a cozy fireplace welcome you, and a friendly smile puts you at ease the moment you arrive.   We value your time!  We don't keep you waiting and do our best to keep the appointments running on time.  Our Wi-Fi hotspot lets you connect to the Internet and get your valuable work done while your loved ones are cared for by our caring team members.

Invisalign

Invisalign straightens your teeth with a series of clear, virtually invisible custom-molded aligners. By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you'll notice sooner than you think. The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, moving your teeth into straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile. And unlike braces, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and brush your teeth as usual.king professional online.

Implants

A dental implant is an option to replace a missing tooth. In this procedure, a small titanium shaft is surgically implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly set in the mouth, the dentist then works to attach the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent solution has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth wear out, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.
Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has several advantages. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the patient who, once the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or difficulty in eating. And, best of all, of course, they don't have to be taken out all the time.

We also offer mini dental implants. These implants are about half the diameter of traditional implants are used mainly to stabilize lower dentures. These implants can be placed in one appointment and be immediately used. The cost is 50-70% of standard dental implants. Call for a free consult.

Teeth Whitening

This is the procedure of making teeth whiter, and therefore more attractive. Our office uses several methods: Zoom!, passive tray whitening, and professional strength white strips.

Zoom! is a revolutionary tooth whitening procedure. It's safe effective and fast, very fast. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. The convenience of Zoom! in comparison to days of using strips or wearing trays makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual. The Zoom! Whitening procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. The clinician then applies the proprietary Zoom! whitening gel that is activated by a specially designed light. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. A fluoride treatment completes the procedure. You'll be amazed with the results. In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first few days after the procedure. Trays with gel are recommended afterward for maximum whitening and maintenance.

The tray method involves having impressions taken from which laboratory fabricated custom vinyl trays are made. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 3 hours, or overnight. The entire process takes 3-4 weeks of daily use. Three different strengths of gel may be used, however the higher the strength the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take several months of use to see significant color improvement. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays should be used every several months.

The end results whether using trays at home or doing Zoom! is the same. The cost of the tray method is about half compared to Zoom!, and there is usually less post-treatment sensitivity.Click to add an engaging title. High quality images go a long way in looking professional online.

Hilary Brockman, RDH: Hygienist & Periodontal Therapist

Hi!
My name is Hilary, I am the Dental Hygienist here at The Oaks Dental Center. I joined the team in late 2010. I recently moved to Illinois from a small town in southwest Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin, Platteville for 2 years and later transferred to Madison where I completed my hygiene degree at Madison College.

Out of the office I enjoy traveling and doing outdoor activities. I am looking forward to working with people in the community, building relationships and educating and inspiring patients to embrace proper dental hygiene. I am happy to have found an office where I can share my philosophy in dentistry. Here, at The Oaks our actions match our promises, which allows us to provide the highest level of clinical care to our patients.

What Does It Mean If a Dentist Is “In Network”?

Many dentists are “in network” with certain dental benefit plans. This means these dentists (also known as participating dentists) have signed a contract with the dental plan carrier agreeing to accept that plan’s set fees as payment for services. A part of the agreed-upon fee is paid by the carrier, and you often pay a portion of it with your deductible and co-insurance for the plan.

What Does It Mean If a Dentist Is Not “In Network”?

While dental plan carriers may encourage you to see a network dentist, your choice of dentist should depend more on how well the dentist fits your dental care needs than how it fits your dental plan. You may prefer a dentist that is not in your plan’s network.

Read your plan carefully to see if it restricts you to seeing a network dentist, and check with your preferred dentist’s office about how your plan would work with his or her office. Capitation programs (which include dental health maintenance organization (DHMO) plans) and some highly restrictive PPO plans (known as exclusive provider organization [EPO] plans) do not provide any benefit coverage for treatment by "non-participating" dentists.  There are, however, plans that allow you the right and freedom to choose your own preferred dentist.
